From occupation permit applications to property, banking and schools, Nexus accompanies individuals, families and professionals through every step of relocating to Mauritius.
Relocating to Mauritius offers compelling advantages — a stable, well-regulated environment, favourable tax conditions, proximity to Africa, and an exceptional quality of life. But navigating the administrative process alone is complex. Nexus removes that complexity entirely.
Our team accompanies you, your family and your employees through the full relocation journey — from selecting the right permit category and preparing your application through to finding property, opening bank accounts, arranging schools and managing the personal details that make a move actually work.
Whether you are relocating as an investor, a professional, a retiree or a family unit, Nexus provides the local knowledge and hands-on support to make Mauritius feel like home from day one.
Mauritius offers a combined work and residence permit- the Occupation Permit (OP) – meaning there is no distinction between the two. It covers investors, professionals and self-employed individuals. Retired non- citizens are catered under the separate Retired Residence Permit, Nexus Guides you through the right category and manages the full application process with the Economic Development Board (EDB).
We identify the most appropriate permit category for your situation, prepare your full application and liaise with the EDB and the Passport and Immigration Office on your behalf.
Whether purchasing or renting, we connect you with trusted local partners, guide you through the legal requirements for foreign property ownership and manage the administrative process.
Opening a Mauritius bank account as a non-citizen involves specific documentation requirements. We manage the process with local banks, ensuring your account is ready when you need it.
For families relocating with children, we help identify suitable schools — international, private and public — and support with enrolment procedures and documentation.
From travel arrangements and pet relocation to domestic staff recruitment and home maintenance, Nexus provides the personal support that makes a move logistically manageable.
Mauritius offers several permit routes depending on your profile — investor, professional, self-employed, retired or property owner. Nexus helps you identify the right pathway and manages the application from start to finish.
For non-citizens investing in a Mauritius business. Requires an initial transfer of USD 50,000 into the company’s bank account. Valid for 10 years, with a mid-term EDB compliance review at Year 5. Renewable thereafter.

Beyond the standard Occupation Permit, Mauritius offers two further routes that Nexus can support — the Retired Residence Permit for those aged 50 and above, and the Premium Visa for remote workers, digital nomads and long-stay visitors who do not engage in local economic activity.
Mauritius operates a flat income tax rate, no capital gains tax, no inheritance tax and an extensive network of double taxation treaties — making it genuinely attractive for investors and HNW individuals managing wealth across borders.
For entrepreneurs and investors with African interests, Mauritius offers a strategically positioned base — close to the continent, with treaty access and a credible IFC to structure cross-border activity efficiently.
Mauritius has a long track record of democratic governance, an independent judiciary and a consistent regulatory framework — providing the legal certainty that long-term residents and investors require.
Excellent international schools, private healthcare, year-round warm weather, a low crime rate and a culturally diverse, multilingual community — Mauritius consistently ranks among the continent’s most liveable destinations.
Foreign nationals can purchase property in Mauritius through approved schemes, with certain property purchases qualifying directly for a Residence Permit — making real estate both a lifestyle and a compliance decision.
Every trust mandate begins with a conversation. We take time to understand your personal situation, objectives and family context before recommending a structure. The process is straightforward — and Nexus manages it end to end.
We meet to understand your objectives, family situation, asset base and jurisdiction of residence. No commitment required at this stage.
We coordinate with qualified legal counsel to draft the trust deed and complete the formation process, including any regulatory requirements.
Moving to a new country involves more than paperwork. Nexus combines deep local knowledge with genuine care for every client’s experience, ensuring your relocation is handled with the same rigour and personal attention we bring to every mandate.
We manage the full relocation process in one engagement: occupation and residence permits, property, banking, schooling and personal administration. You deal with one team, not five separate providers.
Whether you are applying for an Occupation Permit, a Residence Permit, a Premium Visa, or a retired non citizen permit, our team knows the requirements, the timelines, and the documentation the Economic Development Board expects.
Mauritius is our home. We advise on areas to live, schools, healthcare, banking relationships, and the practical realities of settling in. Our guidance goes beyond paperwork into the things that actually matter when you arrive.
If you are relocating alongside a company formation, a trust, or a fund, the relocation sits within a single client relationship at Nexus. Your permit application, your entity setup, and your tax position are coordinated together, not in isolation.
Many clients who relocate to Mauritius also structure their wealth through a Mauritius trust. Nexus acts as licensed trustee under the Trusts Act 2001.
Civil law clients relocating to Mauritius often find the foundation structure more familiar. Nexus handles establishment, charter drafting and full administration under the Foundations Act 2012.
Investors relocating to Mauritius often establish a local company as part of their Occupation Permit application. Nexus handles the full formation and ongoing corporate administration.
